The 65th Infantry Regiment Motorcycle Association in cooperation with El Pozo Productions Noemi Figueroa Soulet who did the vetting process for the veteran, presented the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal for CPL Martin Laboy Santiago (deceased).
The 65th IRMA was greeted at the Montgomery County lines by the Montgomery County Police Dept 5D Motorcycle Escort Detail Officer TM Pyles, SGT Reed, Lt. Harley Schwarz Deputy District commander and were escorted through the town of Boyd, MD to the residence of the family of Borinqueneer Martin Laboy.
We were met by a large amount of family and friends when we arrived lights blazing in Honor of Borinqueneer Laboy! a Hereos Welcome!
The Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony Presentation was a real emotional event for all the Laboy family especially his son Denyzio Laboy, who has spent the last 10 years researching his father's army records and acquiring his citations and medals.
On June 22, 2019 in front of family, friends and co-workers Denyzio Laboy along side his brother Joel, sister Socorro, youngest sister Carol and the eldest brother Charles who was there not physically but viewed and present on Facetime received the 65th Infantry Regiment Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of their father Martin Laboy Santiago who served with Company F 3rd Infantry Division in Korea. Borinqueneer Laboy continued to serve his country into the the 60's to 1964-65
